Today, February 26, the foundation of Santa Cruz de la Sierra is remembered 461 years ago and commemorating this date the municipal and departmental authorities staged the act of delivering a floral offering at the monument to Ñuflo de Chaves, in the plaza of the General Cemetery.
The authorities of the Autonomous Municipal Government of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, the Autonomous Departmental Government of Santa Cruz, the Municipal Council of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, the Departmental Court of Santa Cruz, the Civic Committee and the National Police participated.
The deputy governor of Santa Cruz, Mario Aguilera, took the floor to highlight that this date has a high civic value, fruit of a dream based on the search for the Kandiré or Land without evil, made up of “men and women full of principles and values; a city that embraces the world and that provides opportunities for development”.
“Today is the reflection of the strength of 461 years of history, no matter the hardships and difficulties, the Santa Cruz has always had his sights set on the horizon, there is a commitment to him, his family, the people and the world, today it is a reflection of that, the largest metropolis in the country “.
Aguilera explained that Expert professionals work on strategic axes so that the city of Santa Cruz concentrates the productive power of South America.
The authority stated that an urban planning proposal is being worked onbased on the identification of strategic axes that will become new sources of income and jobs to improve the quality of life of citizens.
With the help of a renowned architect, expert in metropolises in the world, Santa Cruz de la Sierra is intended to become a continental shelf, that concentrates the productive power in this heart of South America to reach the rest of the world.
For his part, the mayor of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Jhonny Fernández, also paid tribute along with the other authorities and ratified its commitment to continue working for a better future for Santa Cruz.
“Here is Bolivia. There are people here from all over the country. People from all over the world will continue to arrive and we will welcome them with open arms. We are going to give them the opportunity to build a better future for our city together”, indicated the mayor.
He added, “we ratify our love and respect for Santa Cruz. We will continue to work tirelessly to help to those who really need it. I urge the National and Departmental power to commit ourselves so that Santa Cruz is unstoppable, but with love and respect for all its inhabitants.
