The determination of the Federal Judiciary Council (CJF) on Wednesday to resume work in all the courts and tribunals of the country completely modified the action plan of the workers of the Judicial Branch of the Federation who were dissatisfied with the judicial reform, which is why they canceled a demonstration in the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, and since dawn they held virtual and in-person assemblies to define how they are going to continue their fight.

In the case of the first circuit that corresponds to Mexico City, they carried out a consultation fast trackin which of the 63 jurisdictional bodies that make up the PJF of San Lázaro, 56 voted in favor of continuing with the work stoppage, five against and two abstained.

Patricia Aguayo Bernal stated that next Wednesday they will meet with Deputy Ricardo Monreal so that their demand that the perceptions they obtain today be respected even if the Judiciary is extinguished.

Before more than 500 people (of the 3,000 who work in the National Palace of Justice) in San Lázaro, Aguayo Bernal, who called herself the spokesperson for the workers, insisted on establishing a dialogue with President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

Likewise, he criticized that the Judiciary did not attribute powers to impose sanctions on workers. They are throwing them at the heads of courts and tribunals. They want to come out clean and that is why they are requiring the holders to take roll call and report absences. Our starters cannot report absences if we are all here. Our subject coordinators here in San Lázaro issued a notice of non-working days that have not been revoked, therefore today and tomorrow should be considered non-working days.

He added that the National Association of Circuit Magistrates and District Judges (Jufed) will carry out a new vote in which they will determine whether the suspension of work continues.

“Last night the Federal Judiciary Council issued circular 22/2024, in which it practically orders that we return to work, relying solely and exclusively on a vote that the Jufed made last Friday.

That vote, I even understand that Jufed was asked to do it again after Saturday, because the mood of the judges and magistrates completely changed due to the humiliation that was done to them with the raffle on October 12. However, the Federal Judiciary did not take into account the workers, the College of Secretaries and Actuaries, the colleagues of the 32 circuits that have been here in Mexico City.
