The National Fleet of Motorcycles grew 42% in the period from a decade, from 2015 to 2024, the year when the total of two -wheeled motor vehicles reached 35 million in the country. The data are from the Brazilian Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers, Cyclomors, Motorists, Bicycles and the like (Abraciclo).
According to the data, Brazil annually produces about 1.8 million units and is the sixth largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world. Currently, more than 40 million people are able to drive motorcycles in the country.
In the last ten years, the states of Alagoas, Amazonas and Bahia have recorded the highest increase in the number of people qualified to drive motorcycles, with growth of 86.3%, 79.7%and 62.6%, respectively.
“The survey reveals that this advance is not limited to the largest national urban centers: Alagoas, Amazonas, Bahia and Piauí lead the list, demonstrating that the use of the motorcycle has expanded by various regions of the country, especially outside the main economic poles,” said Abraciclo, in a statement.
