Morelia, Mich., As of the next school year 2022-2023, the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) will launch a pilot program to apply the tutor relationship in telesecundarias, in order to reduce the educational gap, informed Martha Velda Hernández Moreno , Undersecretary of Basic Education.

In an interview with La Jornada, after closing the First Meeting of Learning Communities in Tutoring Relationship in Michoacán, she explained that they are looking to test the program in Puebla and Nayarit in order to evaluate its impact and determine its application at the national level.

He added that in the School Technical Councils (CTE) We are already working on a national strategy against lag, school dropout and to boost learning achievement, but we found that a basic strategy to reduce educational lag in telesecundaria is the tutoring relationship.

Hernández Moreno, who witnessed the presentation of evidence of learning by teachers, supervisors, subject and sector heads, who practiced the tutoring relationship for two days, insisted that we want this methodology to be an alternative because we need to train telesecundaria students to go to high school and how we enter it.

In schools, she said, we have found that in many communities the last grade students attend is third year of high school, because due to traditions and customs it is widely believed that the next alternative is marriage, and it does not have to be that way.

With the mentoring relationship we believe that if we assist the teachers, recover this community and commit ourselves to learn, to teach from each other, surely our students will have a more collaborative alternative. We need to end this individualism that we have learnedhe insisted.

In this regard, Gabriel Cámara y Cervera, general director of the National Council for Educational Development (Conafe), highlighted that in this first meeting, which was attended by teachers from Baja California, Colima, Michoacán, Nayarit, Chiapas, Veracruz, Puebla, San Luis Potosí , Queretaro and Sinaloa, there were apprenticeships, but without impositions. We confirm that learning must be transformed to reach a transformation of the community.

Griselda Robles, coordinator of the promoter leaders of the Learning Communities in Tutoring Relationship in said entities, highlighted that it was agreed to promote its application at all educational levels, but in particular in telesecundarias; strengthen teacher updating programs with the methodology of the tutor relationship, through courses or diplomas, and promote their certification. In addition, she said, they will seek to train normal students with this new methodology.
