The Tamaulipas Ministry of Health reported yesterday that a suspected patient of acute childhood hepatitis of unknown origin, a 14-year-old boy, was identified in Ciudad Victoria, a case that was sent for study to the state public health laboratory and to INDRE to the diagnosis.
At a press conference, the state Health Secretary, Gloria Molina Gamboa, said that no transmission mode or period of contagion has been detected, the clinical course of the disease is variable and is not caused by water contamination, but in days the patient worsens.
He noted that there are gastrointestinal symptoms, abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, fever, colorless stools and yellow skin.
