The information was released through a statement from this security body, which indicates that the charges imputed to Veloz are: corruption, embezzlement, conspiracy, association to commit a crime and extraction smuggling in the commercialization modality.
The official report indicates “through effective investigation and scrutiny work assigned to the Conas, in the vicinity of the city of Cumaná, Sucre Municipality, Sucre State, they managed to capture six people identified as Alfredo Jesús Veloz Lezama, president of the Marketing Company; Lucca José Edwin Aponte, General Manager; Francisco José Marcano Lezama, Marketing Manager; Argenis José Rondón Salazar, Head of Storage; David José Lanza Velázquez and Joan Miller Gutiérrez Domínguez, Commissioners of the company Inversiones Turpial; members of the Structured Group of Organized Crime (Gedo) «El Veloz»».
The review also indicates that a total of 48.26 tons of food were recovered; as well as the retention of 10 telephones, two private vehicles, 17 heavy-duty vehicles, six public transport vehicles as materials of criminal interest.
