In times where the urgent often prevails over the important, there are some “duties” that if not taken seriously, will be reduced to a dead letter. Such is the case of the Global Goals (SDGs) agreed at the United Nations (UN) level, where the set of imperative decisions for “the social, economic and environmental sustainability” of humanity are listed. There is a goal, number 11, which calls for cities to be inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. Gabriela Pallares, architect, researcher and communicator in the areas of trends, innovation and creative industries, does not feel that much is being given to these challenges of the future.
