During 2022, the resources managed by the Afores (Administrators of retirement funds) have been impacted by periods of high volatility.
In September, the amount of resources amounted to 4.89 billion pesos, 10% less than the same month last year, according to figures from the eat (National Commission of the Retirement Savings System).
This implied that this is the first September in which the resources managed by the Afores contract, since 1998, the first year of registration.
Geopolitical tensions, the expected economic slowdown and the increase in interest rates are the main factors that put pressure on the total amount of resources managed by the Afores.
