In preventive detention a 27-year-old man for robbery at the Phoenix Jewelry

A 27-year-old citizen was ordered a personal precautionary measure of provisional detention for the alleged commission of crimes against economic assets in the form of aggravated robbery, to the detriment of Fénix Joyeros.

The decision was made by the guarantee judge of the First Judicial Circuit of Panama, Josefa Monfante, who held the hearing this Friday, October 21.

After hearing and analyzing the arguments of the intervening parties, the judge based her decision to apply the personal precautionary measures, after considering the nature of the fact, in addition to the procedural risk of danger of destroying or affecting the means of evidence, danger to the community for having convictions in force and danger to the victims.

Previously, in this control hearing, surveillance and follow-up diligence was legalized; and the formulation of charges made by the Public Ministry, represented by the prosecutor Raquel Méndez, was considered presented.

The accused was assisted by the private technical defender Wallas Beackert Britton. This case is related to an investigation that began on October 13, 2022, at approximately 11:30 am, at the Fénix Jewelry, located in the Calidonia district, on Balboa Avenue.
