One day after announcing the repeal of Law 1386, President Luis Arce, dressed in a red poncho and saluting in Aymara, called on his bases this Sunday to “organize and mobilize permanently” in the Peñas community, La Paz. For his part, Vice President David Choquehuanca called in his mother tongue to give him strength (ch’amantañani) and to get up (sartasiñani), in the face of the petty interests that, according to him, want to take away natural resources.
Before more than 10,000 people gathered in the main square of Peñas, where 240 years ago the indigenous Tupak Katari was dismembered, both heads of state evoked on more than one occasion the memory of the Aymara who rebelled against the Spanish.
“Here we are the grandchildren of Tupac Katari, by Bartolina Sisa,” Arce said while in the background he heard: “We are not afraid, damn it!” According to the President, “the grandchildren of those who executed him (Katari)” also follow.

That is why Arce warned that “the fight continues and we will continue to fight against the enemies of Tupac Katari and Bartolina Sisa.”
Wrapped up by peasants from the 20 La Paz provinces, cooperative miners and even state officials, Arce called for a permanent mobilization.
“We must organize and mobilize. Always be ready, the enemy does not sleep ”, called the President who then promised to build a museum in memory of Katari and Sisa.

Meanwhile, Choquehuanca also called on social organizations to “get up,” “sartasiñani” in Aymara, and give President Arce strength. “Ch’amantañi”.
The man born in Huarina also warned: “We are going to enforce the laws in Bolivia,” in a message perhaps to the opposition seeking the restitution of the 2/3 in the Plurinational Legislative Assembly. Choquehuanca anticipated that this week there will be other demonstrations in favor of the Government from Caranavi, Chuquisaca and Santa Cruz.
