The premiere of the documentary film “Mamacha Cocharcas – La Virgen de los Andes” filmed in the districts of Orcotuna and Huancayo, took place in a district. After almost 7 years after having started the dream of creating an audiovisual production for the patron saint of the Mantaro valley, the producer Gisella Chávez together with the producer and actor Cristhian Esquivel, came with great expectations to present their work that was financed with their own resources. “There were several economic complications but the Virgin was always with us, when we were about to give up, she opened doors for us and we managed to finance the production,” said Gisella.
The documentary film shows approximately 10 real testimonies from residents of Orcotuna, Apurímac, Bolivia and other places in the country and the world who tell each of the experiences they lived and the miracles they received when they entrusted themselves to the Virgin.
“The starting point is the need and desire to bring the story of the Virgin closer and for the whole world to know about it,” said Cristhian.
The production company’s goal is to reach 70 minutes in length so that the documentary film can be taken to film festivals, which is why it called on private companies to join and support this project “with a grain of sand.”
