The political rise of Julio César Llallico to the district mayor of El Tambo not only marked a change in management, but also the beginning of a notable asset growth of the current authority. According to his own sworn statements presented to the Comptroller General of the Republic, the now mayor multiplied his assets more than five times during the last year of his mandate.
In its declaration corresponding to the year 2024, Llallico reported monthly income of S/11,400 from the state sector, assets worth S/90,000 and other minor assets for S/2,516.87.
However, in the return submitted in 2025, the reported income remained unchanged, but the value of their assets amounted to S/540,000, while the “others” item increased to S/29,516.87.
In just one year, the mayor’s declared assets went from less than one hundred thousand soles to more than half a million.
Asked about the increase, Llallico avoided specifying the origin of the money and responded with annoyance to the observations: “They will always criticize because they do not look for all the mayors, they only talk about Llallico, Llallico. They do not tell the truth. I, with discounts, receive eight thousand soles,” he stated.
In addition, he asked that journalists investigate all the mayors of the valley and not just him.
