The mayor of La Paz, Iván Arias explained to the residents of Los Sargentos in Inca Llojeta this Saturday night that the Municipal Emergency Assistance Group (GAEM) treated six people who were hypothermic after the fall of a dungeon that flooded several homes as a result of the rain.
“What we have done with the GAEM group is rescue six people who were in the strip on this side of the river, some of them with hypothermia have been brought up. They are being taken to the hospital, there are no injuries, There are no deaths,” reported the mayor of La Paz in contact with the neighbors.
Arias explained that the material damage is considerable and that a larger trench was opened to filter the accumulated water. The work of the municipal staff was delayed because hhad to suspend power in the areasince you cannot enter machinery with the electricity activated.
“They have already cut off the electricity there and now we can go in. There are no victims. What we have are rescued people and we are going to work all night and we are going to open a trench here. This, I tell you again, is not only a product of the rain, but of the earth movements that have covered our vaults and we are going to uncover them from the bottom up,” added the municipal authority, in time to ask the neighbors for patience.
Vice Ministry of Civil Defense contributes to tasks
