Anguish and pain are suffered by the relatives of the adolescent Marcos Zegarra Paucar (17) who yesterday entered the Mantaro river to swim, at the Huancayo dump in the Progreso neighborhood in Huancán, but the strong flow of the tributary dragged him and despite the intense search did not find his body.

According to the account of the minor’s aunt, at around 10:40 a.m., the boy who lives with her went out to graze his ram and, together with another 14-year-old adolescent identified as Sebastián HBC (14), entered the river to swim. but the current carried Marcos away.
The driver who removed the trash from the dump told the aunt that the boy was screaming for help and was lost in the flow.
Given what happened to the area, police officers from the Chilca and Huayucachi police stations and the Emergency Squadron moved.
The rescuers of the 105, aboard a boat, traveled the Mantaro River, from Huancán, passing through Huayucachi to the limit with the Viques district, but they did not find the minor. The search was intense and it was very dangerous, since the Mantaro River has increased its flow.
The family members walked along the river in the midst of the desperation that overwhelmed them. There they asked that more police and serenazgo agents join in to find Marcos’ body.

The other minor who was saved, identified as Sebastián HBC (14), was affected by what had happened. Along the Mantaro River, locals also joined the search, but all to no avail.
