On February 10, after a month of protest by teachers, the dismissal of the director of the Nuestra Señora de Coromoto School in Calabozo, Guárico state, who had been supporting the union during their protests, was announced. demanding wage claims.
Teachers from different schools in this area of the Miranda municipality mobilized last Friday to the headquarters of the school where they rejected the action taken against the director Nilsa Martínez.
Then they moved to the Bolívar de Calabozo square where they held a day called A moment of prayer with God for teachers. In it they asked for the reinstatement of the position of Professor Martínez.
During statements to the local media by representatives of the union coalition for teachers in this municipality, they reported that Martínez received a notification in which he was dismissed without any allegations.

For this reason, the teachers expressed their concern about the measures taken by the Educational Zone and indicated that they will continue to fight for their salary demands and the signing of their collective contract.
On the other hand, during the weekend the governor of the Guárico state, José Vásquez, announced the appointment of Elías Zurita as the new head of the Educational Zone, who will replace Jilberto Rivero.
The appointment of Zurita had been discussed among the teachers until the governor himself confirmed it on Saturday, February 11.
Elías Zurita was twice mayor of the municipality of Las Mercedes del Llano and had been serving as president of the Foundation for the Promotion of Culture in the state of Guárico. He now takes the reins of education without knowing until now the changes he will make during his management and what his actions will be before the assemblies and demonstrations held by teachers.
