It addresses the lack of knowledge about Palestinian territory and the difference between anti -Semitism and anti -joining. The attraction airs at 23h this Tuesday (7), in TV Brazil.
Considered one of the main Brazilian scholars around the Jewish question and the history of modern Palestine, Arlene Clemesha is the author of several works that detail the complexities of the theme. In the conversation, the writer points out that anti -Semitism has taken several forms over the decades.
“There was a historical period, in the early twentieth century, when he was also focused against the left, because they classified it as totally Jewish and said they wanted to dominate the world by communism. So, it has had so many ways, but it was always useful to power,” he recalls.
For Clemesha, anti -Semitism is “unfounded hatred, without the basis of reality; but nowadays it has a racial character, that is, it is a form of racism.” In this sense, the historian reflects on the Zionist movement, which derives from a political-ideological doctrine. “It combines nationalism and colonialism. A colonialist project that implied the expulsion of the Palestinian people from their land,” he says.
To the Dr com Demorithe historian reflects that there is no clear border or constitution to understand the limits of conflict. “It’s something deeper, a much stronger symbiosis. An identification built with other bases,” he reveals. However, she adds: “Criticism, for example, that the left or human rights advocates are not the denial of the right to existence, but the requirement that you stop the genocide of a population.”
