Political scientist Juliano Medeiros is the next guest on the program DR with Demori. In the interview, the historian analyzes the arrest of former president Jair Bolsonaro and the scenario for the 2026 elections. Furthermore, he defends the importance of the climate agenda. The attraction will air at 11pm this Tuesday (9), on TV Brasil.
Director of Instituto Futuro, an initiative aimed at renewing progressive ideas and combating social inequality, Juliano Medeiros has a political trajectory linked to social movements. He was national president of PSOL between 2017 and 2023.
Therefore, he comments that the arrest of former president Jair Bolsonaro does not represent the end “of Bolsonarism in the country”. “It will reinvent itself. Maybe the extreme right will take on another name […]but the truth is that it is an important milestone, because, in other countries, institutions were unable to provide this response”, he says.
The climate agenda was also part of the conversation in this edition of DR with Demori. In the program, Juliano Medeiros comments on the difficulty of bringing the topic to the political debate. “I don’t see any other way to combat social inequality other than tackling the climate crisis. We have an opportunity, but to do so, we need to think a little outside the box”, he states.
After being shown on TV Brasil, the DR with Demori is also available, in full, on YouTube and on the TV Brasil Play app. The program is broadcast in audio, simultaneously, on MEC Radioand the interviews are available in format podcast on Spotify.
