This week began the presentation in Dominican theaters of the film “The Transformed Man”, produced by me and my wife Zinayda, whose main message is the defense of marriage and family values.
More than eight years ago, when we founded the Señales TV channel, we decided to start a campaign in defense of marriages and family values, in these times when so many strange things are happening, when anti-values become a priority and when many young people do not give importance to forming a home and a family with God’s blessing.
We started this campaign because in our country for a long time the enormous number of divorces that occurs has turned this fact into a true epidemic of worrying dimensions. Many people do not know that in the Dominican Republic there are 44,000 divorces a year, between formal ones and those not brought to a court decision. If we decode that figure at a simpler level, it gives us the surprising fact that in our country a divorce occurs every seven minutes.
Just as it sounds: in the country there is a divorce every seven minutes. That is a fact that shocks and makes us want to cry. It is a harsh reality that deserves to be faced firmly and with great determination. That’s why we made “The Transformed Man”: to face that harsh reality. This film is an important part of our effort to tackle the divorce epidemic and strengthen marriages.
In this campaign in favor of marriages and against divorces, which has already reached almost a decade, we have invested all the necessary efforts and have used all the means at our disposal. We have given around 100 conferences throughout the country and abroad on how to build healthy and happy marriages, we have published three books in defense of marriages and we have given guidance and help to many couples from the Ministry of Marriages of the Words Christian Church de Vida (ICPV), of which we are part of its leadership.
Since a few years ago we also started the route of film productions, we decided to also use the cinema and the facilities that the film law allows us, to expand the levels of the campaign to face the wave of divorces. With “The transformed man” we give a new impetus to our campaign in favor of marriages. We are absolutely convinced that if marriages go well, families will be fine and, consequently, societies will have better ways of educating and training our children and grandchildren.
“The transformed man” is a film that is somehow a testimony of what Jesus has done in our lives. It is the story of a man who denies God, who walks through life as he pleases, whose family life is a disaster, who is about to lose everything until he finds Jesus, places him in his heart and his life is transformed. . Many of our friends and brothers may think that this film is an autobiography, but it is not exactly so. Although it is true that it portrays many situations that have been common to me and Zinayda as a couple, and that were the starting point for making this production in defense of marriages.
“The transformed man” is a film of values, where it is shown that faith is capable of moving mountains and transforming hearts. It is a film that will change the way of seeing life for all those who fully enjoy it. “The transformed man” will help to appreciate what Jesus is capable of doing in our marriages and our lives, if we put him in the center of our hearts.
Our intention and desire is that the majority of the Dominican population can see this film and receive the impact of its message. That’s why I want to ask all my readers to take all their families to see the movie and urge their neighbors, friends and acquaintances not to stop watching it. To the pastors who honor us by reading this article, we humbly ask that if they deem it appropriate, they encourage their congregations to attend the film and, if possible, that their marriage ministries promote special presentations in their churches and in their communities.
We have great faith that “Man Transformed” will be a film that will lead many to appreciate the presence of Jesus in their lives and to take as a battle hymn what the Bible says in Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who it makes me stronger”.
