The protagonists of this regrettable and outrageous story is a group of indigenous people from the village of Puesto Indio, in the municipality of Alto Baudo.
They have denounced that they had worked on a farm in this area of the country for about a month.
They indicated that they were engaged in carrying out field work, site maintenance, pruning and other activities.
They told local media that the business or deal they had agreed with the person who hired them was receive $ 500 thousand for the job.
However their boss paid everyone with 500 bolivar bills and he told them that at the exchange its value was the same as the Colombian peso.
They arrived in Quibdó and discovered the deception
One of the workers revealed that after more than 8 hours of travel by water and road they arrived in Quibdó, capital of the department to do the Christmas shopping with the money they had received in payment.
But they got a bitter surprise, because when they arrived at several commercial establishments and tried to pay with the ticket, the vendors told them “that’s like 100 or 200 pesos”.
