Dwellers in the sectors Cachiman and the Path of Villa Mella, in the municipality of Santo Domingo Norte, complain that the criminals and leaders of drug points have taken over these places and affirm that the members of the National Police only deal with this problem “upstream”.
Although robberies are frequent in the areas, they indicate that what most worries them at the moment is the violence that has been unleashed in recent days, a situation that left two dead last week in the Cachimán sector.
For the villagers, the members of the National Police They do not make the necessary efforts to counteract crime on both sides and understand that they only act to attract attention when they feel pressure from the press and their superiors, “one day every year.”
Residents and merchants of these neighborhoods They ask for the intervention of the uniformed agents as soon as possible and that the patrols continue to be carried out like three weeks ago.
“When they announced the joint patrols, things were improving, at least they weren’t done so blatantly, but they are for moments, today I do it, but tomorrow I forget about it and I don’t even go there”Resident of the La Senda sector
Juan de Dios García, who was the victim of a robbery last Sunday morning, said that the streets of the Cachimán sector are becoming increasingly dark due to the crime wave that plagues the neighborhood.
García said that he experienced an uncomfortable moment, in fact, the worst of his life, when he was pointed at the head with a firearm to strip him of his belongings when he was on his way to his place of work.
“It was the most terrible day I’ve ever lived, I saw death next to me, thank God I’m alive because it didn’t happen to adults, but they pointed a gun at my head putting pressure on me and saying a lot of bad words so I would give them my phone and the little I had in my wallet, they barely left me my documents”, expressed the young man, moved.
The community members of these neighborhoods say that they do not know what actions to take to protect themselves, since the antisocials even mock police surveillance, which they say occurs with some regularity.
The drug is sold “like sugar”
The inhabitants of Cachimán and La Senda assure that young people between 15 and 20 years old are the ones in charge of the famous drug points.
They denounce that these unscrupulous on many occasions pretend to be motorists to supposedly sell their drugs stored in the compartments of these vehicles.
“Girl, that’s like selling sugar here, as if it were a staple food, that’s how that pod is sold and consumed here. The best thing about all this is that the police see it and it’s like nothing happened,” said Néstor Sánchez, a resident of La Senda and a merchant in Cachimán.
