The United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) in the state of Barinas is now ready for the election of the 543 teams of the Bolívar Chávez Battle Units (UBCh), which will take place this Saturday, with the electoral roll open.
The political liaison of the PSUV in the state of Barinas and also Minister of People’s Power for the Communes, Jorge Arreaza, reported that 10 members will be chosen in each UBCh who will have specific responsibilities within the process of reorganizing the structures.
He highlighted the participation of the Barineses in the previous days with the elections of the leaders of the streets and communities, where 72% were women elected by the bases.
Arreaza explained that a total of 124,281 Barines participated in the process of choosing the leaders of 10,105 streets in the state, producing an increase in the day last weekend in which 178,318 citizens chose the teams of 2,056 communities.
Call to the youth to join with greater force
Nevertheless; The minister expressed the importance of increasing participation, for which he called on all structures, militancy and popular power to be protagonists of this democratic process for the renewal of the bases of the red awning.
“We must make a greater effort, the youth of the party must join with more force, this Saturday is a good opportunity to add wills,” he said.
He differentiated this process from the internal ones carried out by the opposition parties, such as Primero Justicia and Voluntad Popular, where the people did not participate.

Work progresses in Socopó
On the other hand, Arreaza reiterated that the national government continues to work and attend to the affected families in the Antonio José de Sucre municipality, providing answers after the trough registered on August 9 with the overflow of the Socopó River.
He said that the Ministry of Public Works remains in Sucre and works for the reconstruction of 1,600 meters of retaining wall; however, it is necessary to wait for the rainy season to pass to carry out the major works.
He announced that the Ministry of Housing sent a shipment of materials to care for the houses that suffered some damage, as well as the Institute for the Development of Small and Medium Industry (Inapymi) carried out a census of affected merchants and entrepreneurs to give them financial support. Likewise, the Ministry of Ecosocialism will carry out the inspection along the entire river bank.
The governor of the Mérida state, Jheyson Guzmán, also sent to the Mayor’s Office of Sucre in Barinas a batch of materials necessary to start reconstruction work on the rural aqueduct system in the El Quinó community, which was destroyed during the landslide.
