In Argentina, the same thing with France is going on: Otamendi and Rulli are not holding anything back

The defeat and, above all, the way he celebrated France its classification in the Olympic Games eliminating Argentinahas been a source of anger in the ‘Albiceleste’ dressing room. The mess that took place on the pitch, with players from both teams squabbling over past disputes, ended the patience of some players. This is the case, for example, of Nicolás Otamendi and Gero Rulli.

The defender and captain of the team led by Javier Mascherano did not hold back when it came to assessing what happened: “It makes me very angry, the players can celebrate, they can enjoy themselves as much as they want, but where are the people, the relatives and celebrating them there… There was one whose name I don’t even know, if he wants to celebrate, he should come where we are and we’ll resolve it there. But that makes me angry, that they celebrate them knowing that there are children, relatives, it’s not right.”

He continued: “One of them went to celebrate on our bench. I didn’t really understand what was happening, but then I realised that he went to celebrate with our players. It’s one thing to do it on the pitch, with your people, whatever you want, but afterwards I didn’t like that. It’s up to each person,” he told ‘TyC Sports’, visibly upset.

His teammate Gero Rulli expressed himself along the same lines: “Sometimes there are players who don’t know how to win and what happens happens. I think it is completely avoidable, it is not a good image for anyone. We as Argentines know that when we win, we celebrate with our people and when we lose we congratulate the rival and go inside. I think they had something kept for a long time and today (yesterday) they let it out,” revealed the goalkeeper in reference to the final of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
