In Anzoátegui, members of the Teachers’ union coalition will tour this Friday, March 10, some schools in the western zone to deal with cases of mistreatment and persecution that are being registered in teachers.
The information was provided by the president of the Venezuelan Teachers Union (Sinvema) in the entity, Maira Marín, who assured that this situation occurs in teaching professionals since they began to participate in the protests to demand better salaries at the beginning of anus.
“There is an irregular situation of violation of labor stability and labor rights, beyond the issue of wages, teachers are being threatened, persecuted, harassed, not only from the labor and legal point of view, but also from the point of view of psychological view. And this is motivated by the fact that they have been participating in street protests. We want to categorically denounce these situations that are occurring on campus. Tomorrow we will be in the west area dealing with cases of labor mistreatment and persecution, because that is inadmissible,” Marín told Time.
Maira Marín affirmed that on Wednesday, March 8, they met with teachers from the Sotillo municipality in Anzoátegui state to hear the complaints directly from their protagonists.
Likewise, the president of Sinvema in Anzoátegui indicated that next week they will be in other municipalities doing this follow-up work.
«Then the union coalition of the Teachers will raise before the authorities of the Ministry of Education a report with all the supports and testimonies collected from the affected teachers. I urge the authorities of the Ministry of Education, regional and national authorities, to stop persecuting and mistreating teachers, to intercede with the President of the Republic, to set up a negotiating table to seek better salaries, to discuss third single contract, instead of persecuting teachers and replacing them,” he said.
