The State Coordination of Environmental Nursery (Cega) of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) and the Citizen Service Point (PAC) carried out a procedure against the illicit trafficking of wildlife, managing to rescue nine morrocoyes and two dirty-faced parakeets, in the Anzoátegui state.
According to a publication on its Instagram account, the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism reported that the operation was carried out after a complaint was received at the telephone number 0800-Ambient (0800-2624368) about the trafficking of the aforementioned fauna. .
Once the authorities learned about the case, a mixed commission was activated made up of the Environmental Impact Control and Inspection Unit of the aforementioned ministry, the State Coordination of Environmental Daycare (Cega) of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), and the of Citizen Assistance (PAC), whose officials went to the national trunk coast highway 9, in the Manuel Ezequiel Bruzual municipality, Clarines, where the rescue of these species was achieved.
It is important to highlight that 0800-Ambient is a free telephone helpline made available to the public by Minec, with the intention of channeling alerts regarding suspicion of any irregularity against the environment and wildlife.
