In addition to the Olympic bronze, this is the monetary prize that Tatiana Rentería will take home

Tatiana Renteria was the one in charge of closing Colombia’s participation in the Olympic Games of Paris 2024 and did it in style. The Colombian wrestler added a bronze medal to the country’s Olympic medal tally with her performance in the women’s wrestling event in the 76-kilogram division.

The athlete managed to win the medal after defeating the Ecuadorian Génesis Reasco, 2-1 in the fight, and thus securing the fourth award for the country at this international event.

In addition to this victory, the Valle del Cauca native will receive a financial incentive, in accordance with the provisions of Resolution 000636 of July 25, 2024 issued by the Ministry of Sports.

The regulations establish the monetary prizes that athletes who manage to make it to the Olympic podium will receive. In the case of bronze medalists, The bonus is equivalent to 100 current legal monthly minimum wages. (SMMLV), that is, $136,500,000.

In addition, the coaches of the athletes who achieve this award also receive a reward. According to the resolution, the incentives for these instructors, with a bronze medal, reach 50 SMMLV.

How many medals did Colombia win?

In this edition of the Olympic Games, The Colombian delegation took home four medals (three silver and one bronze).
