A search in Pavilion No.14, of the La Joyita Penitentiary Center, resulted in the confiscation of a 9-millimeter Glock brand firearm with 46 ammunition, some 46 sharp objects, 500 empty plastic reeds, 253 powdered reeds The target is presumed to be cocaine, 195 cigarette packs, 175 high-end cell phones, 59 routers, 136 cell phone chips, 14 wireless speakers, among other prohibited items.
These items were seized in Operation Armageddon 12 carried out by units of the National Police.
Deputy Commissioner Fernando Vargas, of the Penitentiary Security Police Service, indicated that the seized weapon and sharp objects are used by the inmates to disturb order and threaten the lives of other inmates, for which he emphasized that these actions continue to avoid Incidents in prisons.
These actions seek to recover spaces in penitentiary centers and guarantee the peaceful coexistence of those deprived of their liberty, safeguard the security of administrative personnel and visitors.
