The Bolivian Foreign Ministry, through the Vice Ministry of Foreign Trade and Integration, held the “II Meeting of the Integration Committee Oruro Canyon (Bolivia) – Infante Rivarola (Paraguay)” in the municipality of Villa Montes, department of Tarija.
“The holding of this meeting after twelve years underlines the Bolivia and Paraguay commit to advancing border integrationbenefiting both nations by strengthening cooperation and joint development in areas of common interest,” said a statement from the Bolivian Foreign Ministry.
It is known that more than 150 representatives of public entities, civil society organizations and the border population participated in the meeting.
The event, promoted within the framework of the agreement between Bolivia and Paraguay for the creation of a border committee, took place at the Cañada Oruro Multipurpose Campus and the Juan Misael Saracho Autonomous University, Villa Montes campus.
“This occasion served to develop an agenda focused on the needs of the sectors and the importance of strengthening integration between border countries, with the aim of establishing joint, agile and timely procedures for the transit of people, land transport international and goods through the Cañada Oruro – Infante Rivarola border crossing,” reads another paragraph of the document.
At the meeting, different commissions presented their proposals to be implemented and monitored until the III Meeting of the Border Committeewhich will be convened by Paraguay in the first half of 2025.
