The hosts opened the scoring after just five minutes of the ball rolling. Clayton received it from Matheuzinho, after a vacillation in the Dragon’s defense, and beat the opposing goalkeeper. At 34, midfielder Marlon Freitas was sent off after committing a hard foul on Willian Formiga.
However, despite having one less player, Atlético-GO drew level three minutes into the final stage with Dellatorre, who took advantage of Rickson’s cross. At 26, with midfielder Pablo, and at 28, with forward Johnatan Cardoso, Colorado expanded to 3-1. At 34, striker Leandro Barcia took advantage of Wellington Rato’s launch and gave the final numbers to the confrontation. At the end of the game, at 50 minutes, striker Leandro Barcia was sent off and Dragão ended the match with two fewer.

With the result, Vila Nova climbed two positions and took the second place in group B with seven points. Atlético-GO fell two positions and was in 3rd place with six points. In the next round, Dragão will host Aparecidense on Wednesday (9), leader of the group with eight points. Vila Nova’s next challenge will be at home on Thursday (10) against lantern Iporá.
