In 64 schools, 134 thousand high school students start face-to-face classes

134,000 students from 64 educational centers in Panama Center, San Miguelito, Panama North and Panama West, Arraiján and Chorrera, began face-to-face classes this Monday, March 14.

According to the Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, two or three educational centers that are completing maintenance will be starting next week.

He said that by the end of the month there would be a more accurate figure for the number of students who have returned to the classroom.

He stressed that the first week of elementary school is a process of adaptation, also of leveling and recovery. He specified that during these first weeks they will learn to manage biosecurity measures during recess, snack or outing hours.

Gorday de Villalobos said that since March 7 there has been a massive training for the program let’s all learn to read as part of the process to level and help students recover.
