The capital of the department of Caldas, Manizales, aims to be the most sustainable city in the region by 2040.
To achieve this, the city has been implementing a strategy called “Manizales in key SDG”, with which it seeks to give recognition to the ideas that the actors who are developing in their initiatives, which not only lead to the achievement of these SDGs, but also allow the identity and commitment to improve the quality of life to migrate to their DNA. of the citizen.
This strategy is based on five main lines of action: Educating City, competitive city, Sustainable Mobility, Housing and Habitat and Climate Actiona. In each of the lines there are strategic projects, citizen and business initiatives, lines of academic research, all articulated from the Manizales en Clave de ODS Platform.
In addition, the Caldense capital has the objective in the next three years to make an investment from the public sector of approximately $1 billion to carry out projects such as the Wastewater Treatment Plant, Line 3 of the Aerial Cable or the set of public space called Campus Manizales.
Other key projects are Lines 3, 4 and 5 of the aerial cable, the Integrated Transportation System, and the Network of Green Parks.
