Mexico City, Mexico.- Ahimara Rodríguez Heredia, a 10-month-old baby, reported in serious condition after a car crash in Guantánamo his health condition has improved.
According to one information published by the Solvisión state telecenter, after 17 days in the Intensive and Intermediate Care Units, she was transferred to the operating room of the Pedro Agustín Pérez Pediatric Hospital.
The baby presents a “satisfactory evolution” and has been “reported for care”, they point out.
The little girl underwent surgery due to presenting right temporo-parietal open skull fractures (with exposure of the brain mass) and mandibular symphysis; in addition to a wound in the right parotid region, details the official site.
On May 8, an accident involving a passenger truck on Mariana hill, San Antonio del Sur municipality, Guantanamo, killed two men and two women. Among them were Yesenia Heredia Sánchez, 25, and Uberlandis Rodríguez, 30, Ahimara’s parents.
Annara, her twin, was also traveling in the vehicle, who was unharmed. The couple also orphaned four-year-old Yesebel.
Regarding the favorable evolution of Ahimara, Solvisión reported that it responds adequately to stimuli. “He moves his arms and legs in coordination, recognizes his relatives, interacts with the outside environment, claps his hands, imitates a sound like a cart, smiles, and has even sprouted his second milk tooth.”
A fundraising initiative is currently open on the platform GoFundMe to help with the expenses of the little ones to their grandparents, who now assumed custody of the three.
“I would like to ask everyone to help me help these girls who were orphaned, they need food, clothes and try to provide for them in the home where they will grow up,” wrote Yarelis Chiong Lobaina, who initiated the request for help.
