Within the framework of the National Book Day that is celebrated this Thursday, May 26, IMPO announced that it will donate books to the Congress of Mayors, for university students from all over the country who stay in student homes.
«We had been working on the digital part, in March with the start of classes we released access to texts in Epub format for all students. Now, in order to reach other corners, it seems important to us to bet on other platforms, in this case paper”, informed the director of the IMPO, Fernando Abellá.
The objective of Abellá is to bet on the decentralization of official information and to be able to reach the entire country through the different platforms.
For his part, the president of the Congress of Mayors, Guillermo López, thanked the IMPO director for the invitation and the donation of books for young students from the interior.
“We appreciate the approach they have been developing towards young people and the support they are providing to libraries”, He expressed and advanced that another of the IMPO’s intentions is to collaborate with materials associated with disability, especially braille.
«We are very happy and very satisfied with the meeting. We highlight the possibility of generating synergy between the IMPO and the Congress of Mayors, especially with the Municipalities and departments that are farthest from the capital, so that opportunities reach everyone»Lopez stated.
