After thanking President Luis Abinader for his appointment to the General Directorate of Immigration, Lee Ballester said he recognized that he has a great challenge ahead, but that respecting human rights, he will enforce Law 285-04 in all its parts.
“I want to say that the task that awaits us requires a great effort that integrates the different official institutions and organizations,” said the senior official, after being sworn into office by the Minister of the Presidency, José Paliza.
Vice Admiral Lee Ballester, considered one of the most experienced officers in the Armed Forces, was appointed to the General Directorate of Immigration by President Luis Abinader, replacing Venancio Alcántara, who was not assigned new functions.
After putting in office Lee Ballester, the Minister of the Presidency, José Paliza, He asked him to continue enforcing law 285-04, adhering to respect for human rights, as established by international agreements that bind the Dominican Republic.
Meanwhile, the outgoing Director of Immigration, Venancio Alcántara, thanked the support he always received from President Luis Abinader while he was in office, as well as the Armed Forces, Public Ministry and Dominican Society.
