IMMEX forum in Monterrey will analyze strategies before review of the T-MEC and new tariff rules

Monterrey, NL. Index Nuevo León It will address the challenges that IMMEX companies face, such as tariffs that are already affecting 58% of their affiliates, the increase in regional content and compliance with regulations; It will carry out the IMMEX 2025 forum, “Strategies before the review of the T-MEC and new tariff regulations”, on August 27, at the city industrial club.

The director of Index Nuevo León, Zelina Fernández, commented that the industry must act against the great changes, since it represents an essential engine for the economic development of the State, with 724 establishments operating in the entity, which generate more than 383,000 direct jobs, which represent 20% of the workforce at the state level.

  • 68% of the entity’s exports correspond to IMMEX companies.
  • 40% of the state gross domestic product comes from the export sector.
  • Nuevo León occupies the second national place in shipments under the IMMEX program, with 17% participation of the total.

Due to the importance of the maquiladora and export manufacturing industry, the forum has a platform designed for companies to anticipate and prepare in the face of changes and regulations that are coming in foreign, fiscal and regulatory trade.

The Forum was organized by the Foreign Trade Committee and the Fiscal-Financial Committee of Index Nuevo León.

For his part, Luis Morales, director of the Index Nuevo León Foreign Committee, highlighted the urgency of addressing 25% tariffs in critical supplies and uncertainty around the rules of origin of the origin of the origin of the origin of the T-MEC.
