At the end of last Sunday a total of 84’037.376 keys in the Bre-B immediate payments system, which promoted the Bank of the Republic and that officially began operating yesterday, October 6.
According to the Colombian Central Bank, the total means of payment linked to a key are 63’429.116 and the total customers with registered keys were 32’463,735 people.

This means that the average keys by means of payment is 1.3, the average keys per customer is 2.6 and the average payment media for each client is 2.
The alphanumeric keys are the most numerous (50’552.894) in the new system, for 60.16% of the total, those corresponding to the cell phone number are 17’567,398 for 20.9% of the total Of keys, the identity document as a key are 8’778.810 which represents 10.4% of the total, the email are 5’176.365 keys for 6.2% while the Commercial Code for the establishment are 1’961.909 for 2.3% of the total keys.

According to the issuer, 82’051.584 keys correspond to natural personsfor 97.64% of the total, while 1,985,792 keys, for 2.36% of the total are legal persons.
More than 200 entities have joined BRE-B, with participants in the solidarity sector (cooperatives and employee funds as well as financial entities).

They can be done from daily payments of low amount to transfers for $ 11’552,000 but each entity can establish a minor amountlimit the number of daily transactions or other security criteria.
This system is based largely on Pix of Brazil, a model that has allowed the use of cash.
