This Thursday, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa, met with different representatives of the blocs, to establish what the work schedule will be on the agreement with the IMF.
This, since the organism and the Government finalize details on the proposal, which according to Gabriela Cerruti will be taken to Parliament in the next few hours, so that finally the debate on the agreement with the IMF.
Thus, Massa and the parliamentarians defined that the discussion about the negotiation with the IMF will start next week, between Monday and Wednesdaywith which, if all goes well, it would be taken to the Senate in mid-March.
Carlos Heller, Germán Martínez, Mario Negri, Cristian Ritondo, Rodrigo De Loredo, Juan Manuel López, Alejandro ‘Topo’ Rodríguez, among others, participated in the meeting.
In this sense, the debate will begin with the presentation of the proposal, which will be assumed by the Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán, and who has worked against the clock to close the deal as soon as possible.
The Government trusts that the agreement with the IMF will advance
Through a press conference, Cerruti said that details are being finalized to close the deal, since it is being reviewed with the organism word for word agreement.
“You have to have a lot of temperance. We are discussing with the greatest powers on this earth. This cannot be resolved in five minutes,” the spokeswoman asserted.
Under this line, as the negotiation is aimed at Argentina overcoming its economic crisis, The Government hopes that both the opposition and the ruling party will generate a democratic debate.
For this reason, during the last inauguration of the Ordinary Sessions, Alberto Fernández indicated that he trusts that the legislators will support the proposal for the future of the country.
“We need you to accompany us and I thus appeal to the national commitment of everyone,” said the president, who has defended his decision despite the political tension that it generated.
