The head of the National Institute of Migration (INM), Sergio Salomón Céspedes, met with a delegation of US officials, headed by the deputy commissioner of the Office of International Customs Affairs and Border Protection of the United States (CBP), James Collins, and the one that also attended members of the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE).
After the meeting held at the IM headquarters, the federal official said that “we reaffirm the collaboration of attending the common challenges in immigration matters, through Franco dialogue, permanent cooperation and respect for the sovereignty of our nations, as instructed by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.”
He added that “we will continue working to strengthen the bilateral relationship for the benefit of our countries.”
The meeting was also attended by Aaron Mitchell, acting director of the North American Division, and Benito Montiel, CBP added, both of the government of President Donald Donald Trump.
