This is Enriqueta, an establishment dedicated to gastronomy, located in Parque Rodó (passage Prof. Jerónimo Zolesi s/n).
This first location, to which the Intendancy granted the authorization to allow the entry of pets –after evaluating aspects such as its building characteristics and having outdoor areas–, was already authorized by the Food Regulation Service.
The director of Health of the Municipality of Montevideo, Virginia Cardozo, participated in the day where the vouchers of the authorization for the premises were delivered.
Cardozo stressed the importance of publicizing the new regulations and added: “We are really convinced that there are many places in Montevideo that have the building characteristics to be able to join this proposal. We want this proposal to be disseminated, which is simple, accessible and which is committed to strengthening the offer for all”.
The modification to the current regulations –National Bromatological Regulation of the Departmental Digest– which covers this resolution came into force in September 2021, when the commune enabled the request for an exception permit for those food preparation and service businesses that wished to operate in that modality.
With the authorization The aim is to make it possible for customers with pet dogs to enter these spaces.an objective that is added to the set of goals, programs and initiatives proposed and carried out by the departmental government in coordination with civil society organizations for animal welfare and coexistence.
