The health of thousands of citizens in Junín is being put at risk by the Regional Health Directorate (DIRESA Junín), an entity that allows the illegal operation of private clinics and medical centers that lack a categorization resolution and that, despite having been identified as a danger to life and health, were never closed.
According to a report from the Institutional Control Body (OCI), at least 16 Institutions Providing Health Services (IPRESS) private companies were subjected to extraordinary health verifications in which their immediate temporary closure was recommended for failing to comply with the minimum conditions to operate.
However, DIRESA decided to annul the closure actions and, to date, has not carried out new inspections, leaving these establishments to continue serving the population with total impunity.
PAMA OfficePROVIDA Psychological Retreat House, CAD 3D Dental Laboratory, Qara Dermatological Aesthetic Clinic, Vidamedic Polyclinic, Espinoza Dentistry, Marcia Psychomatic Center, Luz Dental Clinic, Ramos Specialized Center, Nuevo Horizonte Medical Center, Brevet Huancayo Polyclinic, San Miguel Laser Aesthetic Pain Therapy Surgical Clinic EIRL, Valley Clinic, Clinic Suárez, Centro Odontológico Salud Dental and Clínica San Juan Bautista, are the IPRESS that continue to operate despite the health risk.
Of these, 11 do not have a current categorization and others do not even have a file. Several have been observed for lack of adequate infrastructure, obsolete equipment and poor internal organization.
The most alarming thing is that, despite strong technical reports that recommended immediate closure because it was “a risk to health and life,” the DIRESA did not issue the administrative closure acts, and worse still, declared the inspections null and void.
In addition, it was discovered that the Executive Director of Assurance, Magdiel Huatuco, requested an extension from the municipalities of Huancayo and El Tambo for these illegal clinics to manage their categorization.
