Ilich López wants to get away from Pedro Castillo by signing a vacancy motion

Yesterday, in dialogue with Correo, López Ureña pointed out that since the farmers’ strike that took place in Junín, he has asked for the President’s resignation, “and now that the opportunity has been given to express that position, I have signed,” he said. Regarding whether he is trying to disassociate himself from the President, he said that he was never linked, “that will be shown over time in the investigations.”

Why the change?

In March of this year, when Renovación Popular promoted the vacancy of the President, López came out to say no: “From Popular Action we believe that this vacancy should not be given,” he said that month. By that time, the denunciations of the President’s influence on promotions in the Armed Forces and Castillo’s links with Karelim López in the MTC were already public. Why did López change now?

“That time everything was transcended that swarmed through the media, now there is a tax investigation, there are a series of very reasonable indications.
