III Venezuela-Turkey Mixed Commission installed in Caracas

This Friday, the III Joint Commission for Venezuela-Turkey strategic cooperation was installed at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry, in Caracas.

The opening remarks were made by the Oil Minister, Tareck El Aissami, who welcomed the Turkish delegation and sent fraternal greetings to the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and his people.

“On behalf of the people and the Bolivarian Government and the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, we send a fraternal greeting to the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and especially to our beloved Turkish people,” El Aissami said.

Likewise, when welcoming the delegation, he stressed: “Today I receive you in Venezuela so that together we can continue building a cooperation agenda at the highest level and for the benefit of our peoples.”

El Aissami emphasized that the cooperation between both countries represents the brotherhood between peoples and reaffirms before the international community “that we are on the right path in defense of multilateralism and the peace agenda that inspires us to work for a better world, more equitable, without hegemonies or empires, a world that opens the horizons to future times”.

In this sense, Venezuela ratifies its willingness to strengthen strategic cooperation ties with Turkey in favor of peace and economic growth, said El Aissami.

Minister El Aissami specified that new cooperation agreements will be signed in the areas of tourism, health, science and technology, as well as education, among others.

Regarding the issue of tourism, El Aissami specified that a trip to Turkey is being planned to sign a memorandum of understanding between the associations.

This Thursday night, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, arrived at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, to participate in the III Turkey-Venezuela Joint Cooperation Commission, as part of the cooperation and agenda diplomacy between the two countries.

For his part, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu highlighted the advances in brotherhood, which have strengthened the multilateral integration between the two countries.

In turn, Çavuşoğlu rejected the sanctions imposed by Washington against Venezuela, for which he stressed that, despite this, business between Ankara and Caracas has tripled, amounting to 850 million dollars, for which they hope increase to $1.5 million.
