The General Price Index – Market (IGP-M), an indicator used to adjust rental contracts in the country, was 0.21% in July this year. The rate is lower than last month (0.59%) and July 2021 (0.78%).
According to Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), the index accumulates a rate of 8.39% in the year. In 12 months, the accumulated is 10.08%, below the 33.83% accumulated in July last year.
The drop in the rate from June to July was driven by the three sub-indices that make up the IGP-M. The Consumer Price Index (CPI), which measures retail, registered deflation (price fall) of 0.28% in July, compared to inflation of 0.71% in the previous month.
Inflation of the Broad Producer Price Index (IPA), which evaluates the wholesale, fell from 0.30% in June to 0.21% in July. The rate of the National Construction Cost Index (INCC) dropped from 2.81% to 1.16% in the period.
