The General Price Index – Market (IGP-M), used as a reference in the readjustment of some rental contracts, recorded inflation of 0.62% in September this year. The rate is higher than the 0.29% in August and 0.37% in September of last year.
According to Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), the IGP-M accumulates rates of 2.64% in the year and 4.53% in 12 months.
The increase from August to September was driven by wholesale and retail prices. The Broad Consumer Price Index (IPA), which measures wholesale, rose from 0.29% in August to 0.70% in September, while the Consumer Price Index (IPC), which measures retail, went from 0.09% to 0.33%.
On the other hand, the National Construction Cost Index (INCC) showed a reduction in inflation, going from 0.64% to 0.61%.
