The General Price Index – Internal Availability (IGP-DI) had an inflation of 0.41% in April this year, a rate lower than the 2.37% observed in March. As a result, the indicator accumulates a rate of 6.44% in the year and 13.53% in 12 months.
In April 2021, the IGP-DI had registered inflation of 2.22% in the month and 33.46% in 12 months. The data were released today (6) by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV).
The fall in the rate from March to April was driven by wholesale, as measured by the Broad Producer Price Index (IPA), and by retail, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
Inflation measured by the IPA fell from 2.8% in March to 0.19% in April. The IPC rate dropped from 1.35% to 1.08% in the period.
The National Construction Cost Index (INCC), on the other hand, had a high rate, changing from 0.86% in March to 0.95% in April.
