Composer and pianist Ignacio Montoya Carlotto, recovered grandson of the Grandmother of Plaza de Mayo Estela de Carlotto, invited citizens to see the film on Wednesday “Argentina, 1985” by stating that “it is a collective event” and that it should be seen “with another next to it” due to “what counts and how it counts”.
It will soon be available to view streaming on amazon prime ‘Argentina, 1985’. That is why I suggest to those who can still see it in the cinema, go! Go see her at the movies, then if you want to see her again at her house. Why?” the 114th recovered grandson wrote on his official Twitter account.
In a thread, he explained that you have to see the film in theaters “in order to be part of that social ritual, which implies going with others to see this film. It is perhaps more important than ever to see this film with someone else by your side… and perhaps be important for this work and not with others, but with this one it is”.
“Because of what he tells and how he tells it. It will be an unrepeatable and necessary time, to sit this time like others in the cinema, in silence next to others, laugh, cry, shudder alike”he claimed.
Montoya Carlotto stressed that “this film in its short run since it was shown to us, has been transformed by far, into a collective event, the one that is worth it, of excellent workmanship, but that does not leave that as an imprint”.
“Going to see this work with other Argentines, under the same roof, is an event of enormous value, do not miss it. That is as necessary as this film. As necessary as feeling less alone in the solitude of a movie theater and in the same world,” he concluded his post.
The recovered grandson of Estela de Carlotto thus expressed the emotion generated by the film directed by Santiago Miter and starring Ricardo Darin and Peter Lanzani, who recreates the historic Trial of the Juntas in 1985.
The August 5, 2014, the Plaza de Mayo Grandmothers Association announced that Estela de Carlotto had found her grandsonson of his daughter Laura and Walmir Oscar Montoya.
