The president of the Unified Council of Electricity Distribution Companies (CUED), Celso Marranzini, On Thursday, the Ministry of Finance mentioned several government entities that will have to pay their electricity bills after the elimination of the practice of “uncuttable institutions.”

“Before, the Government “There was a group of institutions that could not be cut. For example: Education, Health, the Government itself, that is, the National Palace, the Police… all of these institutions could not pay and we could not cut them,” explained Marranzini.

However, from now on, these entities must comply with their payment obligations, or else face suspension of service.

“That practice has been eliminated, those institutions have to pay; if they don’t pay, they will be cut off,” he said firmly.

In addition, the president of the CUED He pointed out that there were other groups of institutions that, although not officially designated as “non-cuttable”, were also exempt from paying for electricity service.

Among these were entities such as the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of the Environment, and the Ministry of Energy and Mines, among others.

With this new policy change, the aim is to transparency in the current management of the State.
