"If the elections were today, Abinader wins in the first round," says Paliza

Santo Domingo – The president of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Jose Ignacio Beatingassured this Friday that if the elections were held today, the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, would win the elections in the first round.

His argument was after explaining that the PRM is in a situation as a political organization in the midst of government management and a crisis but with a significant percentage of support, which he did not specify.

“I tell you that if the elections were held today, I have no doubt that President (Luis) Abinader would win in the first round,” said the administrative minister of the Presidency.

Paliza offered this statement while leading a swearing-in ceremony for Jaime (Jaimito) Santiago Santana, a member of the Central Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) and former mayoral candidate for the province of Dajaboón, at the Perremeista national house.

The former PLD militant announced his resignation from the ranks of that organization yesterday, Thursday, by means of a letter.
