If Martín Torrijos becomes president, he promises to redesign youth employment promotion programs

The presidential candidate for the Popular Party (PP), Martín Torrijos Espino, continued his dialogue with young people, on this occasion, students from various universities, to whom he told that, if he wins the May 2024 elections, he will redesign the programs to promote jobs for youth, since they are dispersed in the institutions and with few resources.

“It is necessary to regroup all the institutions and redefine the programs to promote youth employment, so that young people are really accompanied in this training process -provide them with tools and skills- so that they can go from a venture to a company”, pointed out the former President of the Republic in a conversation with more than 170 university students.

Torrijos Espino noted that young people are not the future, but the present, therefore, they must be encouraged to continue their studies (school and university) and thus achieve effective and efficient results.

In the now customary face-to-face dialogue, the young people expressed their concern about the lack of jobs, rampant corruption, a weak economy, insecurity, a deteriorating health and education system, and the high cost of living.

Faced with these concerns, the PP candidate, always accompanied by his wife Vivian Fernández de Torrijos, said that to solve these problems “money is not needed, but will and knowledge”, so that the country grows with justice and equity, which it cannot be postponed

He added that the bottlenecks that prevent development must be broken, which he will do by laying the foundations for the transformation of the country, thus guaranteeing that the health system works, education improves, and that universities restructure their academic offer so that the take off country.

For the next general elections, more than 370,000 young people will be eligible to vote for the first time, so “it is important to feel their presence; I urge you to participate in politics and not only politicians make decisions; you have to empower yourself and make your contributions,” concluded former President Torrijos Espino.
