Identification renewal: JCE will limit identification hours due to data capture of its personnel

Santo Domingo. – The Central Electoral Board (JCE) reported that of January 12-16, 2026 will be carried out capture of biometric and personal data for the renewal of the identity and electoral cardso exclusively for employees of the institution.

For this reason, he indicated that during this period, 14 identification centers will work in a special hours from 8:00 am to 1:00 pmwhile guaranteeing attention to citizens in the rest of the services offered by the entity.

The centers with special schedule They will be located in Bajos de Haina, Boca Chica, Carretera Mella, Cristo Rey, Doctor Delgado, Ensanche Luperón, Gascue and Herrera.

Also that of Las Américas, Los Alcarrizos, Pedro Brand, Plaza Naco, San Antonio de Guerra and Villa Mella.

The institution recalled that this phase is part of the first stage of the ID renewal processwhich is done in a way progressive, controlled and limitedand that the deployment to the general population will begin in Aprilaccording to previously disclosed schedule.

According to the JCE, this initial procedure aimed solely at its personnel seeks ensure operational stability, quality of service and reliability of systemsin addition to allowing identify improvements, adjust times and reduce risks before its implementation on a national scale.
