The general director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), Igor Rodríguez Duránreported this Monday that as of December 26 of this year, 213,765 air operations throughout the national territory, reflecting a record in the increase in air traffic.
According to a press release, these operations included commercial flightsprivate, charter and cargo, which were managed safely and efficiently thanks to the continuous work of the air traffic controllers assigned to the Air Navigation Directorate (DINA) of the entity.
Rodríguez highlighted “the extraordinary work, commitment and professionalism of technical and operational personnel, who work 24 hours a day to guarantee the safety of aircraft, passengers and crews that transit through Dominican airspace.
He said that, given the increase in operations during the Christmas season, the security protocolsthe inter-institutional coordination and technical supervision, ensuring that the country’s air navigation system continues to operate under the highest international standards.
He reiterated his commitment to continue strengthening Dominican civil aviation, supporting the growth of the air and tourism sector, and guaranteeing a secure serviceefficient and reliable for all users of the national airspace.
